Blessings upon these High Holy Days

First, my blessings to all of you who celebrate two of the holiest feasts this time of year, Passover and Easter. These two feasts are bridged by one Jewish man, Jesus. During Jesus' life, he was a righteous man who observed the Jewish feast days.

I wish to share with all of you the beautiful prayer he gave to us. The words are translated directly from the Aramaic rather than from Aramaic, to Greek, to Latin, to English.

Lord's Prayer
O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration!
Soften the ground of our being and carve out a space within us where your Presence can abide.
Fill us with your creativity so that we may be empowered to bear the fruit of your mission.
Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance with our desire.
Endow us with the wisdom to produce and share what each being needs to grow and flourish.
Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us, as we release others from the entanglement of past mistakes.
Do not let us be seduced by that which would divert us from our true purpose, but illuminate the opportunities of the present moment.
For you are the ground and the fruitful vision, the birth-power and fulfillment, as all is gathered and made whole once again.

Passover and Easter are both about change. The Israelites moved from slavery to freedom. Jesus moved from death to life. Both the Jewish and Christian traditions remember and celebrate the power in their two feast days.

This is also Spring. A time of renewal. In many ways, Spring says more about beginning anew than the January 1st New Year. It is Spring which moves us out of the "darkness" of Winter into the "light" of Spring.

Where I live (Houston) flowers are blooming, trees are budding and the sun is shining.

Not only is it the time for nature to blossom, it is also time for us to be renewed personal Spring Cleaning.
