Healing Touch™ is a program consisting of various healing modalities. The client lies fully clothed on a bed, table or sits in a chair. The practitioner uses her intention for healing, coupled with the movement of her hands, to facilitate healing in the client. The practitioner does not do the healing. The client does.

Each one of us is made up of energy. The energy is of various vibrations. The lower vibrations form our physical bodies. The higher vibrations form our energetic bodies. Our highest vibration is our spiritual self. Each thought, word, feeling and action produces energy. This energy changes the vibration in our energy body. If the thought, word, feeling or action is discordant to our higher vibrations, a disharmony develops in our energy body. The disharmony, over time, filters down to our physical body. Healing Touch™ seeks to bring the energy body back to balance and harmony. The balance will then come back to the physical body, thus affecting change in the physical body. Healing is facilitated when the body is in balance.

Does that mean that the body is cured of its illness?
Not necessarily. Some people have experienced physical healing after a Healing Touch™ session. Most experience, at least, deep peace and relaxation. Some have a spiritual experience which heals them in ways other than physical. Healing Touch™ is a holistic treatment which affects the body, mind and spirit of the individual. Healing on the spiritual, emotional and mental level can pave the way to physical healing.

Does someone have to believe in Healing Touch™ for it to work?
Healing Touch™ has been effective on infants, children and animals. None of these beings have a belief system in Healing Touch™. The only requirement is that the individual receiving Healing Touch™ be open to healing.

Is Healing Touch™ religious?
No, Healing Touch™ is not religious. The practitioner may belong to a particular religious denomination, but Healing Touch™ is not associated with any religious institution. Neither the practitioner nor the client need to believe in God, any more than a doctor or nurse need to believe in God. In fact, Healing Touch™ was developed by a nurse, Janet Mentgen, RN, BS, to be used in the medical arena. The first Healing Touch™ modality taught in a Level 1 class is Therapeutic Touch developed by Dolores Krieger, RN, Ph.D. and Dora Kunz. Therapeutic Touch is a recognized nursing modality used in numerous hospitals. Many practitioners and clients have had deep spiritual experiences during a Healing Touch™ session which enhanced their devotion in their religious denomination.

What are some of the ways in which Healing Touch™ has been used?
There have been and continue to be numerous ways Healing Touch™ has been used. The following is a list of some of the many ways Healing Touch™ has been used: to speed the healing of wounds, to prepare for surgery, to help recover from surgery, to lessen the side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation, to reduce anxiety and the effects of stress, to alleviate depression, for relaxation, to prepare for transition from this life to the next.

Can only a Healing Touch™ practitioner do energy work?
No, there are many people doing many different forms of energy work. There are those who do Reiki, Pranic Healing, Holographic repatterning, Polarity and many other types of energy work. Find what is best for you. Talk to several practitioners and listen to your inner knowing to find the right one for you. You will find that different practitioners specialize in different forms. For instance, Cathy Chapman combines psychotherapy and spirituality with her Healing Touch™ practice.
